Performance and Capabilities
The Ram 1500 offers a powerful lineup of engines to select from. The model runs with a base 3.6-liter V6 engine capable of generating 305 horsepower and 269 pound-feet of torque. For more grit under the hood, we'd suggest checking out the available 5.7-liter V8 engine that's good for 395 horsepower and 410 pound-feet of torque. The latest engine added to the lineup is the 3.0-liter EcoDiesel V6 which makes an astounding 480 pound-feet of torque. Engine power is delivered to the ground via an eight-speed automatic transmission.
The Ram 1500 can tow up to 12,750 pounds, or you may choose to load up the bed with construction supplies, lumber, or an ATV as the Ram truck can haul up to 2,320 pounds.
The GMC Sierra 1500 sports a standard engine setup consisting of a V6 engine that generates 285 horsepower which is mated to a six-speed transmission. For improved power, the model offers a 5.3-liter V8 engine that produces 355 horsepower. This engine is paired to either a six- or eight-speed automatic transmission. The GMC Sierra 1500 also features a six-cylinder diesel engine and a top-tier, 6.2-liter V8 capable of cranking out 420 horsepower.
Capabilities fall in slightly below the Ram 1500 as the GMC half-ton truck can tow up to 12,200 pounds while the model further supports a payload limit of 2,240 pounds.
Interior and Infotainment
Little Rock and Hot Springs residents have come to rely on the pragmatic and dutiful nature of the Ram 1500, but how does the truck stack up in the field of interior comfort and connectivity? Quite well, as the model sports a range of upscale materials while further touting plenty of space for passengers, tools, and regular gear you might need to tote around. Genuine leather seating surfaces are available as are heated and ventilated front seats and a panoramic sunroof. The Ram truck also sports Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and an optional Uconnect 12.0 system which uses a portrait-oriented 12-inch touchscreen.
The GMC Sierra 1500's interior is comfortable and sure to hold up over time, but it doesn't offer the same first-class amenities as the Ram 1500. It too offers heated and ventilated first-row seats along with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, but doesn't showcase the immense infotainment screen size you can have with the Ram truck, nor does it feature a panoramic sunroof.
